"this body wash really hit the spot with me. I do not care for chocolate, I am a true vanilla girl. This has a light scent of vanilla, not too overpowering. This one is a winner. also, rich and creamy. if you like vanilla, try it!"

"it was a birthday gift from philosophy so you know its worth a try. I don't tend to go for vanilla fragrances, but the product is wonderful. the 4 stars is because I wouldn't buy it for myself, but I would recommend it to those who do the vanilla thing"

"admittedly i'm a sucker for most anything vanilla scented. this has a light, true, never cloying or overwhelming vanilla scent that lasts for hours afterward, and worked really well on my hair.

sidenote: i rarely cook or bake but i made the cake recipe featured on the bottle for my husband's birthday this year and he loved it. it turned out marvelously."

good shower gel

"i liked this scent. it is a true vanilla, not sweet just plain vanilla. it is very rich and creamy and does leave you skin moisturized. this particular formulation does leave a lot of the good for you ingredients out therefore i would not buy this again. other than that it does everything it claims to and is a wonderful shower gel."

Very nice vanilla

"if you want a nice vanilla scent with a very creamy texture, this is a great one to use. i love the different food scents and i love the graces, but sometimes you just want that soft vanilla comfort smell, and this fits the bill. it's a great one to use for shampoo, too, i like the faint vanilla scent i get during the day. the ultra rich formula is so nice and creamy, i prefer that formula if i'm using it as shampoo, much more conditioning for my fine hair."

Light and yummy!

"i just felt i had to rate this, as i saw others giving it less than five stars. to each their own, but this is one of my favorites. it smells so true to the scent of vanilla cake. picture just the cake (without the frosting and everything) in a light and airy, almost caramel - like fragrance. My boyfriend bought this for me after a stressful day at work... it's amazing. i love how the scent isn't too strong, but just there enough to leave your skin hydrated and sweet smelling."

"i bought this because I loved the lipgloss but when i opened it up the smell just wasnt as strong. i really wanted to like it but for $16 i just couldnt settle for a "just ok" product."

"I just received this today as my birthday gift from philosophy and it smells great, i opened it and used it immediately, haha, it smells so good my doggie thought it was food. and like the other philosophy shower gels i have it also leaves my skin soft and silky, very silky, i love it."

"I received this shower gel today--oddly enough--the day before my birthday. Like all of the philosophy shower gels, it cleans and moisturizes perfectly. And the smell is perfect.

I won't be eating a birthday cake tomorrow (too many carbs), but I don't care. I'll just use this shower gel."

where is the scent?

"I opened the bottle and this just doesn't cut it. so i tried it in the shower thinking that might bring out the vanilla scent ... nope that didn't work either. this is the first item i have gotten from philosophy that disappoints me - but it won't deter me from buying all my other favorites! i hope philosophy keeps trying for a 'on the mark' vanilla scent because all the other ones are right on the mark!"

"this is a wondeful fragrance that doesn't make you hungry all day! once you've dried off, the smell is gone but you smell CLEAN. this is great because then i can use any perfume i want but still be able to indulge!"

"I bought this for my son for valentines day. He is 5 and loves the food flavored shower gels. He really like this one. I think it smells nice, but i am not a vanilla person. he on the other hand loves vanilla cake and he loves this too!"

"to me, this smells just like a vanilla birthday cake should. Others have mentioned the scent wasn't vanilla enough, but i think true vanilla cake is lightly scented. you can definitely smell the vanilla in this shower gel, and it smells wonderful. this is a great one if you are in the mood for a slightly lighter scent."

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

"I GOT THIS IN AND THERE WAS NO SMELL. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS COLD AND THE PRODUCT NEEDED TO WARM UP BUT WHEN I WENT TO USE IT SEVERAL DAYS LATER, IT STILL LACKED ANY SIGNIFICANT SMELL. I DON'T KNOW IF I JUST GOT A DUD, BUT NO ONE IN MY FAMILY WANTED IT. I CAN USUALLY PAWN OFF THE STUFF I DON'T LIKE TO MY KIDS - BUT THEY OPENED IT, SMELLED IT AND HANDED IT RIGHT BACK. I ENDED UP MIXING HALF OF IT WITH THE SUGAR PLUM AND THE OTHER HALF WITH THE RED VELVET CAKE (BOTH HAD VIBRANT SCENTS AND COULD HANDLE DILUTION) SO THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO WASTE IT."
