"After years of using different skin care lines, i finally found one that i enjoy using every day. although the price is a little steep, the philosophy that "you get what you pay for" is absolutely true. the moisturizer is smooth during application and you do not need a lot. I did not experience any burning sensation as others reviewed. my skin has never felt so smooth and soft."

"This is absolutely the best moisturizer on the planet! as soon as I started using it several years ago the dry tightness on my skin eased and my blackheads cleared up. i use it morning and night, and i love the "fresh" look it gives my skin. also, for anyone concerned about the price--a little goes a long way. I have been using my 4 oz jar for about 8 months now, and i'm confident it will last me another month or so. it is a fabulous product and is definitely one of my philosophy faves."

a very good moisturizer...for mature skin

"i am 28 years old and have tried many of philosophy's products...probably too many! this moisturizer really exfoliates well and does seem to do a pretty good job at keeping skin hydrated. however, it tends to give a burning sensation, for me, when i first apply it. the burning sensation subsides, but my skin is never truly comfortable. however, i have bought this for my mother and she just raves about the product...and her skin has never looked better. she also has dry skin and I do not, so that may be the difference. i also have a very tough time dealing with the scent. for me, it always starts out as strong lavender and then turns into a sort of rancid milk scent. the product performs very well, but I can't tolerate the burning sensation...and the smell."

"this stuff has a great texture. goes on light, will last you forever and it really *is* an h2o moisturizer -- not an oil lubricant. that being said, I really wanted to like this moisturizer. when I put it on my face I felt a mild sting in places on my skin. in a short time my skin felt geat but looked terrible: splotchy, discolored, uneven. apparently my dark african american skin is really sensitive to an ingredient in this and was showing the signs soon after the first use. might be the alpha hydroxy, I don't know. take heed you strong sensitive types. this might not be the one for you. everybody else go to town, it's a great moisturizer! also I didn't notice a funky smell like a few others have mentioned. smelled like natural product to me and even that wasn't a strong smell. yrmv of course."

"I really like the results I got with this in terms of skin appearance, BUT THE SMELL IS SO BAD THAT IT WAS REALLY ANNOYING, AND MY HUSBAND COMPLAINED TOO. THERE ARE BETTER PRODUCTS (OTHER BRANDS) THAT GIVE THE SAME RESULT WITHOUT THE BAD SMELL. won't BUY AGAIN."

"I heard all the hype about this stuff long ago and didn't think much of it until a close friend started going on and on about how much she loved the stuff and how great it was. She made me curious so I got some and used it last night for the first time. It really is just as amazing as they say! The texture is like a souffle and you only need a tiny bit. It feels slick at first but after a few seconds it seems to melt into your skin. My skin felt so super soft after using it. It smells nice too. I've tried tons of different moisturizers and for the past several years have settled on oil of olay, but that stuff isn't hydrating enough. This hope in a jar seems to have the perfect balance of being lightweight and yet still hydrating well."

"I was so surprised by the unique texture of this moisturizer. The whipped, creamy blend feels so refreshing on your skin. This will provide the right amount of moisture without adding any kind of oil to your skin. I even turned my mom onto this product after 15 years of using her old stuff. Use this on your face and neck every morning and night and I promise you will not experience dry, flaky skin again!"

"I'm glad i got the sample with my order because this just did not work for me. I have normal to oily skin...mostly oily. I tried it a couple of times and it just didn't sink in. I could feel it for hours, felt almost filmy. i definitely wouldn't recommend this for anyone with oily skin. but although it didn't work for me, i can definitely see why it would be great for anyone with dry skin- so i recommend it for them. :)"

"We hope for a better life, more money, peace, adventure, wisdom and joy. why not hope for better skin? if you think your asking the impossible, you haven't tried the award winning hope in a jar. the first line of defense for aging skin is a great moisturizer. straight from the jar you will feel the the difference in this light, whipped texture. your skin will literally drink in this formulation and you will be left with soft, rosy, multidimensional, youthful skin."

"it has already been said how amazing hope in a jar is, i looked for litterally years (even though im only 22) for a moisturizer that did what is was ment to and DIDNT give me spots or breakouts. "hope in a jar is absolute perfection!!! nothing compares to this moisturizer. i have very sensitive and dry skin that I have not always taken care of. I worked outside for almost 5 years and grew up on the lake, and needless to say, i didn't use sunscreen. i started seeing signs of sun damage. i had started seeing wrinkles, very uneven skin tone, and a rough texture. after a week of using hope in a jar, my skin had made a complete turn around! it was amazing! my skin was vibrant, the texture was smooth and flake free. now, after years of using this product, i have different skin! my skin is always radiant, smooth as silk, no more flaking, the texture is perfect. i went from sand paper to glass! for the first time in my life the color of my skin is even and perfect! the wrinkles from the sun damage are but a memory! i had fine lines around my mouth, on my forehead, number "11" between my eyes and crow's feet. now, i can't believe my wrinkles are gone! my skin is almost perfect! i have always had hormonal break-outs, this has lessen the amount of break-outs i get , and i use hope in a bottle to handle that! ( hope in a bottle is a miracle too!) i can't say enough about this perfect moisturizer! i will never be without this, or any of my philosophy products! philosophy girl for life!!!!!!!"

"I have simply never used a better moisturizer, and I've tried them all. It spreads so evenly, never greasy or thick. My skin is no longer blotchy. I literally can not wait to put Hope In A Jar on my face after getting out of the shower! And the smell reminds me of being a kid and opening a new doll. I just love it!"

"Never could a facial moisturizer compare to hope in a jar! Never greasy, absorbs quickly, non-comedogenic (even when you have breakouts!), and luxurious- this moisturizer gives your skin luminescence! I use it on my face, neck, and upper chest daily. An absolutely wonderful product- would never want to be without it!"

"I have ultra sensitive skin so was worried about trying this (and other philosophy products.) I never should have had a concern! this product is not only helping me get my skin under control, it's not greasy at all, is so gentle I have no problems with it and my sensitivity, and the smell doesn't bother me in the least. It is probably the first facial mosturizer I've tried that doesn't give me a stuffy or itchy nose when I use it! Thanks philosophy and I'll be giving this one out as Christmas gifts this year!"

"i took a last-minute mini-break at my friend's house in palm springs, which included a last-minute packing job in a mini-bag. my toiletries included only little sample packets of products that i haven't yet tried (and had not planned to try, but could never bring myself to throw anything away). i am *so* glad that "hope in a jar" was the moisturizer i grabbed from the pile. i don't think i've ever rushed to purchase a full-size product after trying the sample-size as quickly as i did after using "hope in a jar". i was not loyal to any brand of moisturizer, as i had not yet found one with which i was completely satisfied...until "hope in a jar". i could see and feel the difference in my skin almost instantly (add a 6th star for *instant gratification*). yes, my eyes stung a bit, but relative to other sorts of pain i endure in order to look awesome, it was minimal (e.g., grueling workouts, high heels, tight jeans, heat-styling hair, plucking, waxing, shaving, etc.) a little goes a long way and the souffle texture is so luxurious. i see that for many users, opinions on the scent are at the extremes; however, since i usually associate strong smells with certain events, i think this stuff smells absolutely fabulous...like i said, i received *instant gratification* after first use...and before the moisturizer barely completed sinking-in, i hopped-online to purchase a full-size jar! run, don't walk, to get this stuff. you'll never get another chance like this (at such an awesome price) to buy back your youth!"
