what a smell!

"I am new to philosophy and ordered the purtiy face wash. love the face wash. I also got a sample of hope in a jar. i don't know what in it causes the smell that it has, but its awful! it smells like mildew. can't tolerate the smell!!"

mixed feelings

"I love this product, but my skin has mixed feelings about it. I probably would have given it 5 stars, but When i first started using it, my face broke out a bit. i've kept using it and it seems to be getting used to it. i have combination skin and by the end of the day my face is a little greasier than I'd like, so i usually use it before bed. the product is nice and light - doesn't feel like you have a moisturizer on your face. my face feels soft and seems to be getting smoother and pores smaller. if you have dry skin i'm sure it would be really great."

No more dry skin!!

"I have very fair skin(redhead), prone to 'that time of the month' acne, and visible pores. After 2 weeks of using 'hope in a jar' My complexion has evened out considerably. the dry, flakey spots around my eyes and nose (from my glasses) are no longer red and irritated. 'Hope in a jar' absorbs quickly, and is ideal, in my opinion, for people who use mineral make up as it doesn't remain sticky or tacky on your skin, and wont clump up your powders. The biggest surprise for me was the texture of it! 'hope in a jar' is light, and airy with an almost whipped or mousse like texture and smells amazing (lavender). One word of advice: it will burn your eyes if you get it too close but it goes away after a minute or two. Doesnt really bother me too much. Totally worth the price, can't wait to try more products!"

"I bought this yesterday and have fallen in love with it. It is absolutely the best moisturizer I have tried. i love how it absorbs quickly since i am usually running late and cannot wait an extra 5 minutes for a moisturizer to absorb. i can definitely feel a difference in the way my makeup goes on when using this product."

"It took me a little while to convince my husband to try this dream of a moisturizer. it was easy with the shower gels, i just stopped buying all those other brands of shower gels/ creams/ soaps and now philosophy shower/bath gels are the only ones my household will use. i finally did a three minute demonstration with my husband showing him how fast and easy it is to have and enjoy cleaner, smoother skin. he preferred the purity foam and then i put a small dab of the hope in jar moisturizer in 4 quadrants of his face (forehead, chin area, and each of his cheeks) and right before our eyes, his face just sucked up the light and fluffy cream! He applied a little more of it on his face as he has dry, red patches around his nose and he is very surprised and pleased that this moisturizer is not greasy, sticky, tacky,slick, or slippery. he said, "it smells good too!" i almost fell off my seat!!! he said that his face feels really, really clean and very smooth, not tight or dry. i asked him to snap his fingers and he was so surprised to be able to snap his fingers just seconds after applying the hope in a jar moisturizer on his face!!!
my husband has now asked me to order another jar of it !! now both my husband and i enjoy our philosophy time together!"

"I love this product. i have very dry and sensitive skin and this has worked wonders for me. I have had problems in the past with breaking out and patchy appearance with other moisturizers. This leaves my skin feeling soft all day and not even having to wear makeup over time with use. Not to mention my bareminerial makeup goes wonderfully over hope in a jar. you have to give it a try."

"I use this as my nighttime cream after cleansing with purity made simple. My skins tends to be dry, particularly in the winter, and this restores all its moisture and leaves my skin feeling very smooth and radiating a nice glow. I also have very sensitive skin that is prone to breaking out and this product does not cause any irritation or clogged pores; quite the opposite actually - it helps to keep my skin clear and if I do have an occasional breakout, it reduces redness overnight.
it is a thick creamy texture, but it absorbs very quickly into your skin and does not leave an oily film, nor will it ruin your pillowcases.
The only thing that I don't like about this product is the strong fragrance. i've become accustomed to it and it doesn't bother me now, but for the first 2 months of using this product, it was very pungant when i would first put on the cream. if you can't handle strong fragrances, then i would recommend the hope in a jar for sensitive skin because it has practically no smell."

"I purchased philosophy's make-up optional at JcPenney, which contain hope in a jar. For the first week, my face looked oily after applying. Thereafter, this moisturizer appeared light and less shiny. I have no complaints about any smell.
my face not only looks younger but also fresher after the second day of using philosophy products."

"I was given Hope In A Jar as a gift from my sister. I love the way it feels. WHen it first goes on it feels a tad heavy, but within moments my skin fellt like silk I like putting it on before bed.. I also LOVE the name!"
