Terrible consistency

"THIS IS THE FIRST PHILOSOPHY PRODUCT THAT I DON'T LIKE. I HAVE SENT BACK 2 JARS HOPING THEY WOULD CHANGE, BUT IT OBVIOUSLY IS STAYING AS IS. WHEN I TOUCH IT TO MY FINGERS, ALL I GET IS A GREASY RESIDUE. THERE IS ALSO A GREASY LIQUID ALL AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE JAR. It Smells bad too.
they need to go back to the drawing board on this one1"

SHOULD NOT BE sTIRRING MY MOISTURIZER

"i LOVE ALL THE PHLILOSPHY PRODUCTS i HAVE PURCHASED TO DATE, AND i WAS EXCITED THAT MY FAVORITE MOISTURIZER NOW CONTAINED SUNSCREEN. HOWEVER, THIS ONE WAS A REAL DISAPOINTMENT. tHE PRODUCT SEPARATED, YELLOW OIL FLOATING IN THE WHITE MOISTURIZER AND HAD TO BE STIRRED BEFORE USING. iT WAS VERY GREASY AND CAUSED BREAKOUTS! i WILL NOT BE PURCHASING THIS ONE AGAIN."

Too greasy

"I agree with other reviews. The cream is way too greasy, when i put it on, my face looks as if I was slathered with olive oil . when you open the jar, the oil is floating on the top. I don't care for it at all. Of all the philosophy products that I love, i am afraid to say that I would not recommend this, whether your skin is dry or not."

"i have been waiting years for this, but sadly the result is not what i had hoped. I wasn't expecting the exact same texture but this is far off the mark. i feel that it is heavier than when hope is not enough spf, which i use from sept to april. This spf hiaj leaves my skin with a slick residue which is not what i want during the hottest months of the year....and it makes me have to wash/change my supernatural makeup sponge way more often. maybe i'll like it better when the weather cools off."

great, but nothing beats the original

"it's tough to follow in the footsteps of the original "hope in a jar". though this moisturizer has the added benefits of sunblock, it just doesn't have the same "kick" as the original formula. this product contains chemical sunblocks, to which many i am very sensitive/allergic-thankfully none are in this formula. however, i hope in the near future, philosophy releases a formula with physical sunblocks (i.e., zinc dioxide, titanium dioxide). these are better for those of us with super-sensitive skin, and better for the environment."

not like the original

"I am a huge hope in a jar fan - but not the new version with spf20. i feel like it leaves a greasy film on my face and doesn't absorb (and i have naturally dry skin, so that's not common for me). i'm sad to say that i'll be switching back to the original, and having to use a separate form of sunscreen. it makes me so sad! in the winter i use when hope is not enough with spf, but that works wonderfully. i don't understand why this one is so greasy when that one is not. i hope they come out with a new formula!"

"I was very excited to try hope in a jar spf 20! i wanted to try hope in a jar, but wanted something with an spf, so this seemed like the perfect combination! unfortunately, i feel as though the product is too oily (maybe because of the sunscreen?) and leaves my face looking really shiny. it also feels greasy going on, and it smells like a sunscreen product. it was not what i expected, since i've used other facial lotions with spf that felt like lotions."

"philosophy has made it’s award-winning moisturizer even better! adding broad spectrum sun protection to this favorite was 12 years in the making. we knew it was important to keep the texture of the original hope in a jar and add the spf. it’s just like hope in a jar, only better. i use this in the morning for sun protection and the original hope in a jar in the evening. my skin has never looked better!"

"i have been a hope in a jar user for 3+ years and must admit that i have not been the best at using an spf. thank you for putting spf in my favorite moisturizer and for keeping the same great texture and smell of the original hope in a jar."

Hope with sunscreen

"Finally! hope in a jar with sunscreen! I've been wanting htis ever since I first tried hope in a jar. sunscreen is a daily must in florida & even more so with my fair skin. this provides it in a light textured, fabulously moisturising way. if other philosophy spf products felt too heavy on your skin, this will work wonderfully!"
