"The first jar of this I received separated within two days, and philosophy sent me a new one. This jar is better, but it is heavier than the original hope in a jar and when I have used it up, I will go back to the orginial and use a separate sunscreen."

a great find!

"i wasn't going to even try this because the regular hope in a jar is a bit much for my oily skin. However, this one is wonderful! it just takes a small amount and it glides over your skin so nice and smooth, wow! i also like how it helps my skin to look radiant and healthy without making it too oily and greasy looking. i normally use hope in a bottle but needed something for the daytime with spf so this was a great answer to my problem! thank you philosophy! you did it again!"

"Such a great product. the formula goes on smooth and fluffy rather than heavy. In the past, I had issues with the residual scent of hope in a jar but this formulation has none of those issues. love how it contributes to a natural health skin glow."

not as good as the original

"I love the original hope in a jar and was excited to try this but this does not come close. it has a very oily feel to it and the product separates. there is a yellowish oil floating on top of everything. i've tried to stir it, and i've shaken it and it remains separated. It incorporates a little and looks curdled. it makes my skin feel very greasy and does not absorb well. It also has a strong sunscreen smell. for the spf protection I would put up with the odor and even some of the greasiness but the separating issue is the deal breaker for me."

Strange consistency

"I am very disappointed with the consistency of Hope in a jar with spf. it is very oily, not smooth and creamy like the original. because of the gloppy consistency it slides off of my finger when I try to apply it. it also has a difference fragrance that the original, almost like a self tanner smell."

finally!

"i really like regular hope in a jar, so i was excited to try this product. i'm very happy with it. it leaves my skin with a lovely glow. the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is because the consistency is a little odd and not what was promised -- the same as hope in a jar. However, the consistency won't keep my from buying it again!"

"love the idea of hope with an spf. i found this to be a little oily and thicker than the original without the spf. i will use this during the summer, but stick to the original otherwise."

"I really did not notice much of a difference between this and the regular hope in a jar. i do just stick with the regular hope in a jar though, i may switch during the summer months when i am outside more often though, but really not much of a difference for me. they are both wonderful and i could not go without hope in a jar!"

wanted to like it

"i was so excited to try this because I love the original hope and loved the idea of spf in hope. However, the consistency is thicker and a little oilier, to me. it feels thicker and heavier on my face, which I don't like. the original hope has a wonderful consistency and i can't feel it at all once applied. not worth the heaviness for just spf 20. i will stick with original hope and then use shelter for spf. maybe this would be good for someone with drier skin but for my combination skin, it is way too oily feeling."

I can't live without this!

"I was a die-hard Hope-in-a-jar junky but always needed to use a separate SPF. My wish came true with this product. It is fabulous and i love the consistency even more than the original. My make-up seems to go on more evenly. LOVE it! Please Super-size!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I like the idea of hope in a jar with the spf included. i just wish it smelled the same as the regular hope in a jar. this doesn't have a bad smell, but it's not my favorite. the product itself is wonderful."

"I love this moisturizer!! I used to use Aveeno spf moisturizer. BUt I came across philosophy in a Sephora and wanted to try it! I fell in love with this product! i am all about SPF. and this added spf in the moisturizer is amazing! i even use it when i'm out on the lake all day during the summer!!!"

"I love this formula! I use when hope spf daily but this is a nice change out for me. Of course the consistency is a bit heavier (i have drier skin so fine by me!!) than my regular hope for dry skin (which has a lighter, whipped consistency), but i expected that knowing the spf was added. Nice addition to my basics!"

just bad in some many ways...

"I really wanted to love this product. i am all about wearing spf so i was thrilled to buy this when it became available. as soon as i opened it it looked terrible. there was this thick layer of yellow oil just sitting on the top of it. i thought maybe it just needs to strirred around which worked. however when i put it on, all of the oil just sat on the surface of my face and i looked so shiny. i found that putting the present on top helped with absorbing the oil and gave me a nice matte finish. so i kept using it and within 1week i broke out so badly on my chin. i ended up returning it because i felt that for the price this product should have been flawless. hopefully in the future they will go back to the drawing board on this one because the concept was great."

amazing moisturizer with spf

"i have tried many daytime moisturizers and i really like this one, better than the original hope in a jar. i was hesitant to buy it but when it arrived i fell in love with the consistency (mousse like) and what it did for my skin at first delivery. i have been using it for two months now and just love what it is doing for my skin."

Terrible consistency

"THIS IS THE FIRST PHILOSOPHY PRODUCT THAT I DON'T LIKE. I HAVE SENT BACK 2 JARS HOPING THEY WOULD CHANGE, BUT IT OBVIOUSLY IS STAYING AS IS. WHEN I TOUCH IT TO MY FINGERS, ALL I GET IS A GREASY RESIDUE. THERE IS ALSO A GREASY LIQUID ALL AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE JAR. It Smells bad too.
they need to go back to the drawing board on this one1"

"i LOVE ALL THE PHLILOSPHY PRODUCTS i HAVE PURCHASED TO DATE, AND i WAS EXCITED THAT MY FAVORITE MOISTURIZER NOW CONTAINED SUNSCREEN. HOWEVER, THIS ONE WAS A REAL DISAPOINTMENT. tHE PRODUCT SEPARATED, YELLOW OIL FLOATING IN THE WHITE MOISTURIZER AND HAD TO BE STIRRED BEFORE USING. iT WAS VERY GREASY AND CAUSED BREAKOUTS! i WILL NOT BE PURCHASING THIS ONE AGAIN."

Too greasy

"I agree with other reviews. The cream is way too greasy, when i put it on, my face looks as if I was slathered with olive oil . when you open the jar, the oil is floating on the top. I don't care for it at all. Of all the philosophy products that I love, i am afraid to say that I would not recommend this, whether your skin is dry or not."
