just O.K.
Posted: May 9, 2009
"I love all of philosophy's 3-in-1's for their great, gentle cleaning, without irritating my sensitive skin. this scent is just o.k., it's not unpleasant, but it doesn't "grab me" like some of the other ones do. it doesn't really smell like gingerbread to me, although it has a mild spicy scent. however, there are other scents i like much better."

"gingerbread is so-so. it's not bad, just not great. there is not enough spiciness and a too non-sweet cakey smell to it. The gingerbread lip shine smells much more yummy and like the real gingerbread. not exceptional enough to get again. i love gingerbread man so much more!"

"i am happy to say that i am in the camp of loving it !! the smell is spicy and comforting, it gives me aromatherapy in the shower, leaves my skin nice and soft and for me the best part is that the scent does not linger, and i am able to wear my fragrances without this clashing with my fragrance. philosophy shower gels are the best !!! completely rock !!!"

not the gingerbread scent i was expecting
Posted: February 16, 2009
"like all philosophy shower gels, the formula is wonderful, but the scent of this one misses the mark. not the sweet, cozy smell i was expecting. it almost has a floral note to it. not terrible, but i would not buy this again."

not too overpowering

"the smell on this is nice. I too could smell just a hint of the spice.I used it as a shampoo and had no problems with it.the scent could be a lil stronger tho, I had a hard time even getting a smell from it."

i love it

"i personally, love this gingerbread shower gel. i was not a big fan of gingerbread man, i didn't think it smelled like baked gingerbread to me, but this one does. i bought it to give as a gift and then ended up smelling it in the store and decided to keep it for myself!"

delicious

"I personally love the smell of this scent even though it doesn't really smell like gingerbread. It is very comforting for me and feels great on my skin. i do detect some spice in the scent, but it is also sweet and clean smelling. i was surprised when i first smelled it, but it grew on me fast."

"this shower gel is amazing. it is so creamy and the light, sweet scent it leaves on my skin is wonderful. I want to smell my arm all day long. my husband and son use it and love it just as much."

No spice here
Posted: December 13, 2008
"For the first time, a scent has really let me down. I was expecting the spiced aroma of gingerbread and instead my bottle lacks any distinguishable scent. the best i can do is combine it with a coordinating scent like sweet creamy frosting and imagine the smell of a fresh baked gingerbread cookie. the gingerbreadman (which doesn't smell at all like gingerbread, but instead, ginger ale) is more appealing."

disappointing
Posted: December 4, 2008
"i was looking forward to this 3 in 1 because i like the baked gingerbread scent. it is hard for me to detect any scent at all in this formulation. i may have received a bad batch, but from reading the other reviews, I am not the only one who is disappointed. it still works great as a shampoo--my hair is full of volume and shine after using it."

Not really a gingerbread smell
Posted: October 30, 2008
"my first sniff was definately a shock...no spice, no ginger scent, but a sweet almost floral smell. I smelled it a few more times, but still detected the floral scent. it's not a bad smell - just not gingerbread (at least not any gingerbread that i've smelled over the years). i've really grown to like it & use it almost exclusively (in spite of the 10 other shower gels in my bathroom). i don't think the name matches the actual scent, but the smell really is nice - just not what you would think. i have ordered another bottle, as i did not think it would be available after the holidays - that's how much i am liking this. give it a try - you may like it as well, just forget the "gingerbread" idea & what it might mean to you."

gingerbread?
Posted: October 21, 2008
"Since when does gingerbread smell like ginger ale? I really wish I could understand why philosophy usually nails any scent and then they bomb on a few here and there so terribly as with this one. most of the scents are out of this world good, so how do these occasional stink-bombs get the green light? this smells like the "gingerbread man", another product that I think is horribly misleading by its name alone...except for the part where this product has very strange floral notes to it that give it that extra little "yuck". these shower gels are not cheap and it is extremely frustrating to purchase them online (no stores near me carry the line), remove the seal to smell the product, and then realize it is not at all what you expected. Aside from the scents, these products are nothing special and seem to use the same cheap ingredients found in store brands. This particular "flavor" has nothing going for it since it doesn't even smell good...blech. and let's face it, without a good fragrance, the price is just too steep to warrant."
